Suggestions for a day trip among islands and straits.
Bleket - Flatholmen- Sandholmen
A very nice day trip that we recommend everyone to do. Pack the kayaks with lunch and paddle north. Through Klädesholmen, weather permitting, you otherwise choose the inner trail through Blekets harbor and further north. Passes through the narrow passage at Vrångsholmen and then on through Hjärterösund towards Sandholmen. Stop at the famous beach on Sandholmen to have lunch and take a cooling dip and relax before returning home. In calm weather you can choose to paddle on the outside Hjärtrön and through the strait at Flatholmen well worth it as it is a unique fishing village on an island. Now you see Klädesholmen and Blekets harbor in the distance and soon you are home again.
Distance: 6.7 Nm (12.4 km)
Time required: 5-6 hours incl lunch & bath
Maximum wind speed: 6-10 m / s in westerly wind
Place for disembarkation: Sandholmen and Hjärterön
To think of: In summer, there can be many bathers on the beach at Sandholmen.
Bleket - Klädesholmen - Stockevik/Morik
A slightly shorter trip if you do not have a whole day to spend at sea. Paddle out through the southwest hole at our kayak center and take a view of Klädesholmen. Klädesholmen consists of two islands so aim for the bridge and you paddle under it into the harbor. When you come out of the harbor on the other side, turn right and follow land until you cross the fairway after Klädesholmen. Now you are in the strait towards the back of Stockevik where there is a cozy sandy beach that you can step up and take a break with swimming if the weather allows. From here it is about a quarter of an hour back to the Kayak Center via Bleket harbor.
Distance: 3 Nm (5.5 km)
Time required: 2-3 hours
Maximum wind speed 6-8 m / s
Place for disembarkation: The sandy beach after the passage towards Morik’s wedge.
Things to keep in mind: In summer there can be a lot of people on the beach, pulling up the kayaks on the side of the beach.
Bleket - Klädesholmen - Eggskär
This is also a slightly shorter trip which, however, requires calm weather as it is located in the outer coastline. Keep in mind that you will cross the fairway for boats a couple of times so have a good overview of the boat traffic. Once out among the islands at the far end, you will be rewarded by a fantastic archipelago and a clear horizon.
Distance: 4 Nm (7.4 km)
Time required: 2-3 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Place for Landing: On the inside of Eggskär and the surrounding islands, however, there are small bays not easy to
get out of the kayak, be careful as it can be very slippery when you put your feet down.
Things to keep in mind: In summer there are a few boats here and there, but with a kayak you will always find a little place to moor.
Bleket - Vannholmarna - Gulskär
A small paradise / island at the far end of the coast’s islands. The trip requires calm weather as it crosses the open sea during most of the paddling. Be careful when you land the kayaks it is slippery underfoot and a bit tricky to get out of the kayak, but once up you have a little paradise for yourself with a view over the Skagerack.
Distance: 4.8 Nm (8.9 km)
Time required: 4-5 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Place for disembarkation: Harder to get up, but if you are helped and are checking where you put your feet, it works.
Things to keep in mind: This tour also crosses some waterways, so keep an eye out and keep an eye on boats.
Bleket - Åstol - Dyrön
2 islands out in the Hakefjord. These islands also require calm weather as the route crosses the open sea. If you go through the strait in Rönnäng, stay to the edge and have a good view, a lot of boats that pass this fairway. Once out on Åstol and Dyrön, there is plenty to do. Hiking trails, small narrow alleys among houses, restaurants and bathing areas. However, you can count on a lot of tourists in the summer so you will not be alone with your experience.
Distance: 6.6 Nm (12.2 km)
Time required: 3-4 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Place for disembarkation: At Åstol there is a ramp at the far end of the harbor. On Dyrön there are both sandy beaches and bays.
Things to keep in mind: In summer there can be a lot of people on the beach, pulling up the kayaks on the side of the beach.
Bleket - Pater Noster
Pater Noster is a Heidenstam lighthouse that stands on Hamneskär, one of Pater Noster Skären. The lighthouse was built in 1868 and was used until 1977 when it was replaced with the lighthouse Hätteberget. You can see the lighthouse already when you reach Klädesholmen and it looks like it is behind the next skerry. But do not be fooled, it is about 8km there and can almost feel frustrating when the lighthouse never gets closer, but it is worth the effort! On the way out you paddle through barren landscape with many sharp mountains and with a great chance to see birds and seals.
Note: The trip requires some caution and in wind this can be a very demanding trip with a large swell. Several of the islands are bird sanctuaries and you are not allowed to enter or stay within 50m from 1 April to 15 July. Consult us before you leave if you feel insecure!
Distance: 9.5 Nm (17.6 km)
Time required: 5-6 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Landing place: Next to the harbor to the south there is a small pebble beach that works.
Things to keep in mind: In summer there can be a lot of people on the island, do not paddle into the harbor, full of boats.
Bleket - Kärrsön - Hättan
A fantastic trip that goes both over the open sea, along the coast and into islands with lush greenery and small cozy sandy beaches. As this tour partly goes over the open sea and over fairways, calm weather and supervision for boats apply. One of our favorites as it is not as busy when you reach Kärrsön and the inner archipelago.
Distance: 8.3 Nm (15.4 km)
Time required: 4-5 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Place for disembarkation: There are small sandy beaches along the coast of Kärrsön.
Things to keep in mind: Private houses in the middle of the island so respect their need for privacy
Bleket - Kärrsön - Katten
A long trip that requires the whole day with a lot of kayaking. The trip is partly the same route as the one to Kärrsön, but you continue towards the large island Katten with fanatical tranquility and fine sandy beaches at the back of the island. This trip also requires calm weather as it crosses the unprotected sea for the first part. Slightly different nature when you reach Kärrsön with surrounding islands, green and lush unlike the outer archipelago’s bare cliffs.
Distance: 12 Nm (22.2 km)
Time required: 6-8 hours
Maximum wind speed 4-6 m / s
Landing place: The sandy beach at the back of the Cat
Things to keep in mind: In summer there can be a few boats but never a lot of people
